Senior-level leadership movement continues to reshape India’s fashion retail sector, with Walmart-owned fashion e-tailer Myntra appointing Ritesh Mishra as senior vice-president, in charge of category and revenue.
Mishra joins Myntra from departmental store chain Lifestyle India, part of the Landmark Group and a rival for Myntra, where he most recently served as deputy chief executive officer. His appointment underscores the increasing competition among fashion retailers to secure experienced leadership as the market intensifies across private labels, premium assortments and omni-channel strategies.
Over the course of his career, Mishra has held senior roles at several leading fashion and apparel companies, including Marks & Spencer India, where he led large-scale retail operations and growth initiatives. He has also worked with Pepe Jeans London, VF Arvind Brands and Pantaloon, gaining extensive exposure across branded apparel and organised retail.
An alumnus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mishra brings more than two decades of experience spanning apparel, fashion-led consumer businesses and modern retail. At Myntra, he will be responsible for steering category and revenue strategy, with a mandate to strengthen the company’s core fashion and lifestyle portfolio while supporting its next phase of growth. He will also join Myntra’s senior leadership team.
The appointment comes amid notable leadership churn in the Indian fashion industry during the current financial year. Recently, Shailesh Chaturvedi stepped down as managing director and chief executive officer of Arvind Fashions Limited, with Amisha Jain assuming the role. Jain had previously served as managing director for Levi Strauss & Co across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe, and was succeeded at Levi Strauss by Hiren Gor as chief executive officer.
