
Lindstrom India, a textile company and subsidiary of Finland-based Lindstrom Oy, ramped up its operations in the workwear service unit and is expanding it now.
The advance unit in Chennai will increase the company’s capacity by 100 per cent and is designed to support Lindstrom’s sustainability goals of going carbon neutral by 2035.
Juha Laurio, Lindstrom Group, President and CEO, said that the company’s Chennai unit is expected to employ about 100 people,adding “Chennai has been a strategic choice for us. In accordance with our strategy, we want to be located close to our customers and serve them in the markets where they operate.”
The expanded workwear service unit at Singaperumal koil will serve the growing demand in various industries across South India.
Jayant Roy, MD of the company, said that with the expansion of the unit, the company would have 11 workwear and one clean room business units.
The total capacity to process will be more than 3 million garments per month.
