INDA and EDANA, the prominent nonwoven trade associations, have partnered to introduce the Quality and Audit Programme (QAP) in the United States with the primary objective of this initiative to streamline audit processes and provide increased support to the North American absorbent hygiene products and wet wipes industries. Additionally, the QAP initiative aims to set a global standard for quality, ensuring high-quality consumer products in the hygiene industry.
Drawing parallels with the harmonisation of test methods in previous years, this collaborative program holds the potential to simplify operations for both suppliers and converters of Absorbent hygiene products (AHP) and wet wipes.
Initially available only in Europe, the program is now expanding its scope to encompass Asia and the Americas.
Tony Fragnito, President of INDA, expressed satisfaction in partnering with EDANA to promote the program for the industry’s benefit and efficiency. Also, Murat Dogru, General Manager of EDANA also emphasised that the QAP is a significant stride.
Dogru acknowledged that while adopting the program might necessitate a shift in perspective, industry players worldwide are likely to increasingly embrace it. He looks forward to partnering with INDA to bring QAP to the North American market, further expanding its influence.
