The government has reopened the application portal for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme in the textiles sector, according to an official statement from the Ministry of Textiles. The portal will remain open for submissions until 31st August, 2025.
The Ministry said the decision followed requests from industry stakeholders to allow fresh applications under the scheme. It confirmed that applications are being invited from companies in the MMF (man-made fibre) apparel, MMF fabrics, and technical textiles segments. The statement noted that all previously notified terms and conditions will continue to apply for the new application window.
The Ministry encouraged eligible companies to make use of the extended opportunity and submit their applications within the specified timeframe. This is not the first time the portal has been reopened; earlier, it was temporarily made available for a limited period to accept additional applications.
Launched in September 2021 with an outlay of Rs. 10,683 crore (US $ 1.22 billion), the PLI scheme for textiles aims to boost domestic manufacturing and exports by providing incentives in the MMF apparel, MMF fabrics, and ten segments of technical textiles.
