
It’s just not the readymade garments; Bangladesh is emerging strongly as an exporter of caps and hats as well and has registered around 50 per cent growth in headgear exports in the first five months (Jul-Nov) of the current fiscal year, shipping around US $ 193.43 million worth of hats and caps (during the period).
Reports claimed this citing the analysts, as per whom, the country (Bangladesh) has the ability to significantly increase exports within a couple of years by diversifying its export basket even as according to a Commerce Ministry official, Bangladesh Government has set a target of exporting headgears and caps worth US $ 410.10 million in the current FY.
Meanwhile, data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), showed exporters made shipments of caps and headgears worth US $ 129.25 million in the July-Nov period to the overseas markets, which in the corresponding period of FY 2022 stood at around US $ 364.63 million.
