WhatsApp announces that it will be providing in-app purchase and hosting services.
The company will now allow businesses to sell their products on the WhatsApp app via Facebook shops, an online store launched in May.
With this, users will be allowed to browse store’s catalogue in a chat, add items to their cart and place orders.
The company is also planning to invest in the expansion of ways consumers can check available products and expand partnership with businesses for better management of consumer communications.
Moreover, Facebook will also be offering an option to businesses to manage their WhatsApp messages via hosting services. Some of the services will be chargeable for the business customers.
More on this, Matt Idema, Chief Operating Officer, WhatsApp, said “WhatsApp would offer the hosting service for free and the enterprise tools would cost 0.5 cents to 9 cents per message delivered.”
He further mentions that shopping tool will be available in 2020, while the hosting will be available in 2021.
