CLO Virtual Fashion, a leading 3D garment simulation technology company, has announced the first-ever integration between FlexPLM and CLO through CLO’s standard PLM plugin CLO-Vise.
It’s worth mentioning here that FlexPLM is a state-of-art PLM platform provided by PTC, which is a leader of PLM technology for retail, apparel and footwear industries.
The integration between both technologies will facilitate a more efficient, effective and seamless end-to-end digital workflow for apparel sector, enabling users to acquire and share vital product information directly between FlexPLM and CLO.
This much-anticipated integration is a unified solution for brands and designers, which makes them capable to access the entire spectrum of a product’s information that includes colours, trims and material libraries from FlexPLM – all from within the CLO software.
Additionally, the new development now allows 3D products to be directly uploaded to FlexPLM from CLO that reduces time, material consumption and development costs and leads to a more sustainable and efficient product development process through an entirely enhanced digital workflow.
As the current retail experience is undergoing an unprecedented situation, Bill Brewster, Senior Vice President and General Manager, PTC’s Retail Business Unit, quoted that the pandemic has accelerated a major shift to e-commerce and speed to market has become even more critical than before, leading to additional complexities for the supply chains.
“3D design is such a vital tool for brands and retailers who need to design and develop products faster, efficiently and more cost-effectively than ever before, in order to meet the demands of today’s digital consumer,” said Bill, adding, “Partnering with CLO to integrate their 3D technology with FlexPLM solution is a matter of delight. This will bring a deep and feature-rich integration to the market and assist our customers in realising the full value of 3D tool.”
This cutting-edge integration is done by the CLO-Vise plug-in (see Image 1) that can be purchased through a yearly subscription plan. “The initiative was to develop a standard plugin that is highly scalable and created in agile methodology by collaborating with PLM vendors and their clients,” commented Alex Kim, API Product Manager, CLO Virtual Fashion and the leader of the CLO-Vise Integration project.
