Macpi Group is a world leader in providing comprehensive solutions for both the cutting and finishing departments of a garment unit. The company has been successful in servicing many major garment brands including those in the Far East, where production of garments is shifting from western countries. Both the Macpi and IMA brands are well recognised in the region with, a strong presence in China, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and India. The company sees the region as a huge growth potential and is eagerly waiting to present its latest technology at the upcoming JIAM in Singapore. Team StitchWorld talks to the Group on its global strategy in the Far East, with particular attention to India, considered as a key market by the company.
With a long history going back to 1961, the Macpi Group has always trained its attention on R&D which has permitted it to remain at the forefront of technology and expand worldwide through a well-organised sales network and making several investments in the creation of permanent establishments based on site. A binding sense of collaboration unites all the companies of the group which are specialised and completely independent from the technical and technological point of view, but strongly integrated from the logistic, commercial and management point of view that has a mutual target: product quality and efficiency in serving the customer.
The company is today seen as a strategic partner rather than merely a machine supplier. “This is the best compliment we have ever received and a matter of pride for us,” says Paolo Cartabbia, Managing Director, Macpi Group, “but of course, we can’t forget our role as manufacturers. To protect our expertise that sets us apart from others, we align with customers for service but remain independent, not entering into partnerships,” he adds.
