Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) organised an interactive session on ‘Innovation & Competitiveness in Textiles & Clothing Industry’ in Ludhiana, Punjab on October 9.
“In view of the mounting manufacturing cost worldwide, focus on productivity to improve the bottom line has become important for textile businesses. Technology has become vital in helping them to achieve it,” underlined S. Sunanda, Secretary-General, CITI in her welcome address at the event.
At the conference, D.L. Sharma, Vice Chairman, CITI & Director, Vardhman Group spoke about the Indian textile industry and the importance of ‘innovation and technology’ in the present competitive scenario in the global textile market.
He stressed on using advanced methods of manufacturing textile and how it fetch better returns for the manufacturers.
A panel discussion was also held at the event. Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, World University of Design moderated the discussion on innovative tools and solutions.
Furthermore, Bino George, Principal Business Consultant, Infor India highlighted the emerging trends in the global textile industry. He even suggested how technology innovations can help the manufacturers better address the market challenges.
Around 50 delegates from the industry attended the conference.
