Yet another sustainable innovation from Archroma!
The global leader for sustainable colour and speciality chemical has unveiled Helizarin LTC New liq, a new formaldehyde-free low temperature curing binder for pigment printing.
Notably, this sustainable innovation has been built in compliance with ‘The Archroma Way: safe, efficient, enhanced, it’s our nature’.
Launched in ITMA 2019, it can be used to print any kind of fabric.
The novelty has been developed for low temperature curing or no curing, allowing the reduction of fixation temperature and processing time in comparison to the conventional process. It also ensures that there is no change in the shade that occurs due to the high-temperature processes.
The use of Helizarian LTC further improves printing process productivity with reduced energy consumption.
This also serves as a welcome solution for the textile manufacturers with no curing equipment, since this binder provides improved fastness especially on synthetic fibres including polyester and polyamide. The end results through this binder create soft and durable prints of premium quality articles.
The new product will be the core of Archroma’s Cool Print, a totally formaldehyde-free system that keeps printed textiles soft and durable, and the planet cooler.
The system combines the benefits of Helizarin LTC New with Luprintol softening and fixing auxiliaries and Printofix pigment preparations, helping manufacturers save 30 per cent of the processing time, 45 per cent in energy consumption and 44 per cent CO2 emissions compared to benchmark pigment printing.
Both Helizarin LTC New and the Cool Print system, are formaldehyde free and registered under REACH. These also meet the requirement of being ZDHC & bluesign certified and are compliant with the Oeko-Tex Std 100 Class 1 standard for babywear, and with the MRSL of the most major brands.
“Helizarin LTC New was developed by Archroma’s R&D team together with experts at our Global Competence Center for printing, based in Barcelona, Spain. As ‘The Archroma Way’ has ‘safe, efficient and enhanced’ as its three pillars, we designed an innovation that offers our customers a balanced combination of resource optimisation, safe handling and controlled effluent. Because it’s our nature!” said Joaquin Femat, head of business development for printing, brand & performance textile specialties at Archroma.
