Xeros Technology Group – a UK-based garment finishing technology company – has announced that its India-based license partner Ramsons Garment Finishing Equipment has bagged an order for nine denim finishing machines that incorporate Xeros technology.
With this order, Xeros will mark its first sales of innovative XDrum design which will fully automate the use of its proprietary ‘XOrbs’ in garment laundry and finishing processes.
XOrbs will eliminate the need for pumice stone in the denim finishing process and reduce the consumption of water by around 75 per cent.
The XDrum-enabled machines have a cubic capacity of up to 5,000 litres and the machines can process 300 jeans per cycle.
According to Xeros, the manufacturing of the machines would start immediately with the first shipment to Bangladesh-based renowned apparel factory – ABA Group, this year.
The Group’s selection of Xeros technology is significant as it produces over 45 million garments annually, with around 70 per cent of total production dedicated to denim products.
Describing the first order as an important milestone ahead of full launch in the market in Q1 of 2021, Mark Nichols, CEO, Xeros Technology Group, stated that ABA Group’s order represents a landmark in the company’s strategy execution.
“Our collaboration with Ramsons has paved a new way for turning raw denim into finished garments, at a time when the apparel and textile industry is under immense pressure to reduce environmental impact and costs,” commented Nichols.
