Touchpoint, a Finnish pioneer in sustainable workwear, has joined hands with Spinnova, a sustainability fibre company based in Finland, to launch Tapio, a sustainable apron for workwear collection.
The manufacturing of these biodegradable aprons does not include any harmful chemicals and is 100 per cent wood based.
The Spinnova process can easily recycle these aprons into new fibres without any need for dismantling.
Moreover, the absence of microplastic and plastic makes it suitable for recycling the apron smoothly. Also, there is no use of any coating and dye for the production of these aprons.
On the alliance, Janne Poranen, CEP, Spinnova, commented “Touchpoint wanted to join our journey long before we knew much about the technical or commercial development of our fibre and wanted to publicly introduce a demo product before knowing when a collection is possible.”
