Hong Kong-based sewfree technology supplier H&H focused on its stitchfree technology in the recently concluded Texprocess Germany, where in collaboration with Juki, it showcased a bit of its portfolio of machines. One of the major highlights was its renowned Smart Bonding Press machine, which basically works on heat transfer application.
In a conversation with Apparel Resources, Anshuman Dash, Marketing Director, H&H explained that heat transfer application can be defined by various names such as heat transfer, label pressing, pasting, sublimation, press bonding, buck press, etc., so that the machines which work on this application are usually known as heat transfer machines or sublimation machines.
However, most of the machine manufacturers only concentrate on the cost-competitiveness, while overlooking the other vital parameters like temperature, time and pressure. “Thinking ahead of the trend, we as H&H, ensure through our Smart Bonding Press that the machine works as a quality assurance equipment which controls the temperature and pressure in the defined tolerance of time cycle,” commented Anshuman.
The biggest plus of the machine is the consistency of these three significant parameters. As temperature is directly proportional to pressure, it is a must that these remain evenly distributed on the entire surface and Smart Bonding Press follows the principle. It also increases bond strength by adding cooling cycle.
Further, its temperature monitoring system allows the users to set the tolerance (in +,-) for temperature, so machine works only under this allowed tolerance. In an interesting development, this press has multiple heating zones and each zone is connected to the sensors and the tolerance in heating deviation is controlled digitally to maintain uniform temperature. The same replication is done for pressure monitoring as well. The users can set the timeout which means the machine will wait only till the set timing, and if the required parameters are not fulfilled in the designated time, the cycle will not complete; therefore, the product will remain safe due to timeout setting.
“This is a kind of Industry 4.0 solution, where we can also control the temperature and pressure through the mobile app. Statistics of complete and incomplete cycles can also be monitored which help to roll the tasks to the operators according to their efficiencies,” asserted Anshuman.
Another breakthrough technology showcased by H&H was Bagel Size Measuring Solution which was displayed by its sister concern company Sakho. The measuring tape utilises Bagel Labs’ proprietary smart tape measure technology to measure size digitally and send data directly to computer. This way errors in calculation and transcription in inspection reports can be eliminated and it just takes 0.5 seconds to send a measurement one after another in computer, allowing the users to enormously speed up the measuring process. “At least 60 per cent time can be saved in the measurement of a garment using this tape,” claimed Anshuman.
