Established in 2002, China based Techzen Science & Technology Co. Ltd. is an RFID solutions provider whose products are backed by the company’s indigenous R&D, composed of 22 software programmers and 58 hardware engineers. Techzen’s customers primarily include manufacturing groups whose manufacturing operations are distributed over multiple locations including the installation at the Hong Kong based Crystal Group that has manufacturing locations in 9 different countries. Techzen’s RFID solutions can be implemented right from the fabric warehouse to cutting to sewing to finishing and even on the stations of quality checkers.

The company is set to begin its Indian operations that will be guided by the company’s competence of multi-location manufacturers. Catering to over 200 customers and 500 factories worldwide, the company has partnered with ISSS Solutions, which will also be responsible for training and after-sales operations in India. “Worldwide, we have sold 2,00,000 terminals and over 5,000 Auto-hanger’s work stations. We anticipate immense growth in India as by 2015-16, there will be more people who will recognize this solution as they are beginning to comprehend that more than anything, efficiency is what counts and keeps the factory running,” adds Eric, Director & Deputy General Manager, Techzen.

Techzen brought to the table the ETS Smart Hanger System that comes with an Intelligent Wireless Terminal. The terminal acts as a support to the quality check personnel and can be customized on the basis of product category to document the defects. Further, the terminal comes with a provision to generate an alert for the floor in-charge in events of raw material exhaustion, similar to a Kanban system. “The one-of-a-kind RFID wireless terminal for QC comes with designated buttons for different parts of a garment and with a single button-press defects can be documented. The data hence collected can be used to develop DHU reports and even analyze the most frequently occurring defects,” Eric concludes.
