Japan-based flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki is all set to hold a private show in London from 7-8 November 2018. ‘Shima Seiki Europe APEX Show’ is being organized in association with Shima Seiki’s UK subsidiary and Hong Kong-based spinner UPW.
The private show will feature Shima Seiki’s renowned SDSONE APEX3 3D design system which will highlight the company’s Digital Yarn Project. Digital Yarn Project is said to assist Virtual Sampling process as SDSONE APEX3 3D design system is at the core of the company’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept of integrating the fashion supply chain.
The design system is capable of offering comprehensive support of the entire knit production process right from yarn input, planning, design and machine programming to sales promotion.
The project aims to digitize yarn with the cooperation of spinning companies so that its customers can select yarn for their design and produce simulations for digital sampling, while programming data allows the required amount of yarn to be calculated so that the yarn can be ordered as soon as approval is obtained for that design.
Further, APEX3 is said to be capable of transforming the fashion industry through speedy, smart and sustainable production.
“Our greatest strength lies in Virtual Sampling process. Photorealistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the need for actual sample making, effectively reducing time, cost and material usage,” informed Shima Seiki.
It’s worth noting here that UPW, in this show, will offer access to its inventory of digitized yarn online.
