Shima Seiki, a leading flat knitting solution provider, will be exhibiting at FIMEC 2020, the 44th International Trade Fair for Leather, Chemicals, Components, Machinery and Equipment for Footwear and Tanning in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The event is scheduled to be held from 10 to 12 March.
The company along with its Brazilian representative Brastema Tecnologia Textil Ltda, will be exhibiting flat knitting technology for the manufacturing of shoe upper. Through this technology, Shima Seiki wants to propose knitting fabric as an alternative to leather for making shoe upper.
The highlight of the event will be company’s SVR123SP and SSR112 computerised flat knitting machines.
SVR123SP comes with a dedicated loop presser bed mounted above the rear needle bed. This allows the production of hybrid fabrics that exhibit the feature of both knit and weave, suitable for application in shoe upper which requires formfitting function, comfort, flexibility, breathability as well as strength and stiffness.
SSR112 features iPlating inverse-plating capability that assists in increased patterning capabilities, including the production of jacquard-like patterns in light weight plain jersey stitch.
The company will also be presenting examples of WHOLEGARMENT® shoe uppers.
Moreover, the 3D design system SDSONE APEX series will also be on demonstration, which allows ultrarealistic simulation of samples. The solution allows the creation of digital samples thus saving the enormous amount of time and cost invested in making the physical samples.
Also, the digital creation of patterns further helps the manufacturers to maintain their sustainability goals by saving the creation of physical samples which are ultimately dumped in waste.
