Maliban Textiles, a renowned garment manufacturer based in Sri Lanka, has achieved 80 per cent sales orders automation with WFX Cloud ERP.
Founded in 1974, Maliban Textiles is one of the largest manufacturers of woven garments and wet processing in South Asia. The company produces around 20 million woven garments annually that are sold across the globe, including in Europe and North America. Maliban runs 11 state-of-the-art factories across Sri Lanka and Haiti, employing over 10,000 skilled workers.
The company has grown significantly since its inception, which means that it has seen a staggering rise in customer orders. When WFX met Maliban, the manufacturer was struggling to manage sales orders, production planning and material sourcing processes. The company has outgrown its existing solutions for handling these tasks.
Therefore in 2012,Maliban decided to implement a new ERP system for a touch-free digital transformation to improve its business processes and provide real-time information on sales orders. After careful evaluation, the company chose WFX Cloud ERP as its new solution because of its ease of use and excellent customer support.
WFX ERP is a cloud-based enterprise solution that centralises, automates and streamlines all manufacturing processes. It also provides businesses with important contextual insights and actionable data. The implementation has allowed Maliban to completely re-engineer its manufacturing processes to increase productivity, improve visibility into the supply chain and reduce material costs.
Maliban upgraded from an on-premises version of WFX ERP to the more advanced WFX Cloud ERP in 2019. The switch enables them not just to eliminate repetitive, low-value manual processes but also automatically synchronise all order information from the buyer’s portal to ensure that the production and procurement teams are always on the same page. With WFX, Maliban has moved 80 per cent of its personnel, previously engaged in manual sales order processing, to more strategic activities.
In addition, WFX has also integrated the ERP with Maliban’s production planning tool Fast React to push sales projections and order quantities across different factories for better production planning and synchronised Time & Action tasks across the ERP and various planning functions.
By upgrading its business operations with WFX ERP, Maliban has also been able to improve its customer service and efficiency while reducing the risk of human error in manual processes. It has also been able to save up on around 2 per cent of its material costs by employing data-driven decision making.
The Maliban teams says that the biggest advantage of WFX is its flexibility to integrate with their existing systems and tools. Maliban can migrate its data from or to WFX without any disruption. WFX also allows it to customise the application for specific business needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
WFX CEO, Jatin Paul said: “WFX has been working with the Maliban team for more than 10 years. We are happy to be able to provide them with a reliable and flexible cloud ERP system that allows them to manage their day-to-day operations, as well as plan for future growth.”
