Karl Mayer, the leading textile machinery manufacturer, has extended its name to Karl Mayer Stoll as it successfully acquired Stoll, the flat knitting machine builder, with the merger officially completed on 1 July 2020.
With this acquisition, Karl Mayer has broadened its portfolio including the field of flat knitting. Stoll will continue its operations and work as an independent business unit within the corporate group.
More on the same, Karl Mayer said “After the acquisition of Stoll, the Karl Mayer Group is the only supplier of innovative solutions for warp knitting and flat knitting. The joint growth is now also emphasised by a relevant addition to the name of two of the German Karl Mayer companies.”
Since last week (12 August), Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH has been operating under the name of Karl Mayer Stoll Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, and Karl Mayer R&D GmbH is trading as Karl Mayer Stoll R&D GmbH.
Established in 1873, Stoll is today equipped with intelligent software and solutions such as knitelligence, for patterning and production planning for helping the customers in their digitisation journey.
Karl Mayer, established in 1937, specialises in warp knitting, warp preparation for weaving and technical textiles.
The company employs around 3,300 employees globally and has subsidiaries in the USA, England, India, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Bangladesh and Switzerland as well as agencies all over the world.
