Paolo: We are known for our high quality and technologically advanced products amongst our customers. Our machines may be priced expensively in comparison to some of our competitors, but our customers are assured of the latest technology not offered by most. In addition, we are the only company in the market today that is offering the revolutionary Fabric Tension Measurement device, which precisely reads the fabric lay tension during the process itself, thereby ensuring tensionfree and wrinklefree lays, which are immediately ready for cutting.
SW: Customisation is one of the facilities that you offer to your clients. How does customisation work in spreading machines?
Paolo: Even though we already have four different models of 111 that can very well handle different widths and weights, however, the picture is very different in the actual cutting room. The same fabric comes in varying widths and weights in different roles, and sometimes the same cutting room has to handle both light and heavy weight fabrics. The highly trained and technical staff of Mario visits the factory prior to installing a machine, and completely understands their products and needs before advising the correct model. Once the machine has been installed, our experts once again visit the factory to finally customise the same to give them maximum output. In fact, we even train the operator who would be handling the machine.
Since our machines are highly computerised, they need expert handling. Therefore, our advise to the clients is to make efforts to continue with the same operator in the long run as they know how to accurately handle the machine and get the maximum output from it.
SW: How do you foresee the Indian market developing for Mario Fonio spreaders?
Paolo: Apparel manufacturers are finally realizing the importance of the cutting room in the entire production chain, and have automised it. Automation and high productivity are the key words in the Indian industry today and our machines are ideal for their changing needs. We have already installed many machines since 1999 through our exclusive Indian agent, Janaksons Overseas, and both of us are working diligently to ensure that this number grows. I am very honoured to work with them since they have a very professional approach and have an extensive network of service centres.
