Australian retailer Rip Curl selects NGC’s Andromeda PLM solution

New Generation Computing Inc. (NGC), a global leader of digital supply chain solutions that transform the concept to customer life cycle for retailers and brands, lately announced that Rip Curl, a global designer, manufacturer and retailer of surfwear and accompanying products will replace its legacy PLM system with Andromeda PLM from NGC.

Rip Curl is based in Torquay, Australia, manufacturing and marketing high tech surfing sportswear and a broad spectrum of accompanying products such as wetsuits, board shorts, watches, apparel and travel gear for both men and women. It is one of the largest surfing companies in the world, which strives to be the “Ultimate Surfing Company” and thus always innovating and pushing surfing to new levels.

For more than 15 years, Rip Curl’s legacy supply chain software solution created a siloed environment with each office having its own database and unique ways of working across products.

In order to enhance and speed up the product design and sourcing of Rip Curl’s fashion and performance collections, the company looked for a single collaborative platform to connect its global network and seamlessly integrate ERP data so as to increase the visibility and efficiency.

After a comprehensive market evaluation, the company selected NGC’s cloud-based Andromeda PLM solution which is based on the platform’s robust planning functionality, strong vendor interaction capabilities and efficient data management and entry.
