The Indian Texpreneurs Federation (ITF), Coimbatore-based prestigious group of like-minded textile entrepreneurs with a combined annual turnover of over Rs.40,000 cr, is planning to make ‘training’ video films for various departments on work methods and best practices. With this they aim to support the textile spinning industry, helping them face the global competition with better manufacturing techniques and practices.
The current industry trend of high attrition rate and shortage of workers has resulted in recruitment and training as a continuous process in all the units.Therefore ITF has decided to provide open training for the people.
The federation has already released its first training video on Autoconer department. This includes- right work methods, safety measures during work, methods to increase productivity, methods to maintain machine and working area, techniques for reduction of wastage, proper method of handing over work to next shift etc.
These initiative is a collaboration of the best practices of the member spinning mills and is being made with the help of the professionals. All the new workers of these mills will be first trained with these videos to make them understand with the basic know how and the proper methodology of work before the practical training on the shop floor.
Similar to the one already released, the company is planning to release ten more videos related to other departments in the spinning industry. The video content is available in different languages including Tamil, English and Hindi. Available on YouTube, the videos can be downloaded free of cost too.
