Every season we have a slew of definite trends emerging out of both runway presentations and streetstyle analysis (because the street is the actual runway).
But this season, amongst a sea of recurring trends, there approached a sure-shot winner from the colour palette domain.
Amazon India Fashion Week A/W’18 observed that, Primrose Yellow or Gen Z yellow has secured a spot not only in our Colour Forecasts but also as the go-to colour for fashion influencers. Seen on men, women and gender-benders alike, this happy-go-lucky, youthful colour was mostly spotted alongside a brighter pop of neon, and made itself known over jackets, flared trousers, pinafore dresses, kurtas, fanny packs, shoes and accessories.
In terms of detailing, studded, embellished and embroidered patch details are working themselves over denim jackets and canvas like materials; ruffle trims have given way to more mature flared silhouettes, and prints are shying away from the typical florals towards patterns that depict themes and stories.
For instance, animal portraits are a big hit for both S/S’18 and A/W’18 seasons.
With the rise in spiritual wellness related themes, a need for escaping the mundane and disconnecting from a 24×7 digitally connected lifestyle has emerged, – and this time, even stronger than before. This has translated itself globally through holographic and cosmic details, and it was a pleasure to spot them on Indian streets.
Holographic Bermuda shorts, shoes, bags and jackets stood out aplenty at AIFW A/W’18 deeming this a global success for the approaching season.
