It is obviously owing to the Coronavirus impact that the Men’s and Haute Couture Fashion Weeks in Paris are cancelled!
French fashion’s governing body, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, has officially cancelled the upcoming fashion weeks.
The spring 2021 Men’s show was scheduled from 23 to 28 June, while the Haute Couture Fashion Week was listed from 5 to 8 July.
The CFDA is also advising American designers not to showcase their resort 2021 collections in May and June and has also postponed its menswear week.
The Camera Nazionale della Moda is working on new digital formats and ways to create a new storytelling platform encounter for the days originally scheduled for the Milan Men’s Fashion Week – B2B and B2C platforms.
The production for many of its menswear designers has already started and in some cases, completed for the Spring/Summer 2021 shows.
Florence’s Pitti Uomo and London’s Men’s Fashion Week, both of which are listed for the beginning of June, are still supposed to take place, though Pitti Uomo plans a virtual showroom for its June fair.
It goes without saying that cancellation of major fashion weeks will definitely cast a shadow over the fashion industry.
