Linate Airport to host Giorgio Armani’s next runway show

The Italy-based luxury fashion brand, Emporio Armani’s CEO, Giorgio Armani has recently announced to host its next Emporio runway show next to a real airplane runway. The upcoming catwalk event, later this month, will be hosted inside the hangar of Linate Airport in Milan.

The renowned fashion designer has named the show ‘Emporio Armani Boarding’, this will be the first fashion show to be hosted at an airport, showcasing the brand’s Spring/Summer ‘19 men’s and women’s wear range.

In a press release issued, the luxury wear brand said that, “Airports portray symbolism. They suggest unbounded openness to the world outside. You take off to discover and learn, or come back after experiencing countless adventures.”

The hangar has been a part of the brand since 1996 and the public will be able to access the hangar through a special contest that is scheduled as a game across the city. Markedly, the event will host 2,300 guests that will include several members from the public, along with the editors and VIPs. Tickets will be available through a special contest, hosted across Milan, the organisers have opted for a playful format. The first one hundred casually picked names will be offered a special ‘passport’, allowing them to attend the show accompanied by a guest of their choice. Additionally, the Italian luxury fashion label has been on the move recently, hosting shows in different countries like London and Paris and this upcoming show is also expected to be as successful as others.
