The Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta has revealed that their chunky unisex shoes that were featured in their Fall Winter 2020 runway show are made out of 100 per cent biodegradable materials.
According to them, the material used to make these shoes is obtained from natural and organic sources like sugarcane and coffee, which makes it easy to biodegrade quickly.
Under the right conditions, the shoe can start decomposing after a year underground. This is a sustainable move for a brand that is known for being criticised for using materials like leather in their products.
The shoes themselves feature a solid unisex rain-boot design with chunky soles and a high top length with several colour options to choose from.
They will be available next season in retail stores as well as various e-commerce portals.
