Lanvin launched its Summer Spring 20 collections called the ‘Plein Soleil’ at the 2020 S/S Men’s Fashion Week on 23rd June. “It’s all about the romance and coming-of-age holidays,” said Bruno Sialelli, Creative Director at Lanvin Paris, commenting on the new menswear collection which was all shades of polychrome and ultra-modern designs of suits, jackets and coats.
Enforcing a very experimental theme blended with pastel colours, the collection was all sexy and sensual in its outdoing the generalised menswear fashion and thereby, goofs around the intermingling of men and women collection by showcasing them together. The collection is gender fluid and does not remain confined to the realms of menswear. Loosely fitted blazers paired with printed flared pants, block printed scarfs worn over white chic trousers undeniably confirmed the collection’s experimental mood.
The collection vibes out summery and vacation mood with extravagant collared suits, Bermuda sets, long and flared tunic sweaters in a colour palette ranging from bright blue to warm mustard. The prints added to the freshness of the theme with exotic patterns using bold colours.
Lanvin experimented with the art of layering. Oversized jackets and blazers worn over tunics with a scarf to complete the look, trench coats worn with baggy pants and textured blazer worn over length tunics and light coloured shirts highlighted the layered detailing of the outfits. Rectangular collars took over the regular ones. The materials have different knitting of cotton, towelling, linen and jersey.
Accessories were given their due acknowledgement with their additions to the couture. Classic bags, hats and scarves were added to give statement looks. The quirky colour combinations contributed to the aesthetics of the collection.
The Lanvin Summer Spring 20 collection was an exotic blend of minimalistic and multi-layered clothing infused with unconventionally paired colour combinations much appealing to the eyes and definitely staying loyal to its summery and holiday vibe.
