In an attempt to bring Saudi Arabia on the global retail map, the Fashion Trust Arabia recently launched a charitable initiative that aims at consulting, mentoring and sponsoring the local design talent.
The venture coincides with the expanding global interest in tapping the potential of this region’s fashion industry. The local designers now have an actual platform to showcase their work at such a massive scale without worrying about flickering investment opportunities.
The initiative will be headed by Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser and co – chaired by Sheikha al- Mayassa Bint Hamad Al- Thani, along with Tania Fares, the founder of the UK’s Fashion Trust. Many regional, international business and fashion influencers will be taking part in this new venture.
Fashion Trust Arabia is yet to reveal its committee members. The introductory prize will be broadcasted at the event slated to happen in spring 2019.
The Arab Fashion council (AFC) earlier this year announced its strategic partnership with The British Fashion Council (BFC). The union aims to advance a sustainable fashion infrastructure in the Arab World, building the fashion industry as the base for a creative
Economy by mobilizing education, design, production, retail and commerce.
