As per the latest speculations in the fashion industry, London-based designer Emilia Wickstead is set to showcase her namesake brand’s Resort 2019 collection in Sydney from May 13-17, 2018 during the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW).
The collection is said to be an exclusive See-Now-Buy-Now capsule designed in collaboration with the luxury e-tailer Matchesfashion.com.
The 18-piece collection will focus on a vacation wardrobe that will be unveiled on May 15 at Sydney’s Carriageworks venue, following which the collection will be launched digitally on Matchesfashion.com as a global trunk show on May 17. All the pieces would be ready for purchase immediately, once the collection goes live on the multi-brand website.
Inspired by vintage swimwear, the limited edition assortment will include a range of swimwear pieces and dresses that feature floral prints, retro-inspired details.
Wickstead, who traditionally shows during the Spring and Fall seasons at London Fashion Week, will be presenting her second Resort wear initiative this year, the first one being unveiled in New York last June.
Apart from Wickstead, other designers participating during the MBFA this year include seasoned labels such as Camilla and Marc (who will also be opening the shows on May 13), Akira Isogawa, Thomas Puttick, Albus Lumen, Lee Matthews, Bianca Spender Macgraw, Christopher Esber, Romance Was Born and Double Rainbouu, among others.
