Time flies… It seems just like yesterday when I was writing about our first in-house B2B show Apparel Sourcing Week 2019 to be held in Bangalore in March. And now when I sit to pen my thoughts for the April issue of the magazine, it gives me immense pleasure to inform that ASW as a platform for regional collaboration and business generation has been more than just successful.
The overwhelming response that ASW garnered in just two days, reaffirmed my belief once again that our over 25 years dedicated to the industry have been well-spent and the philosophy that Apparel Resources and Apparel Online stand for have been aptly recognised and well-appreciated.
Around 23 exhibitors from Bangladesh alone, leave aside those from India, umpteen big names from the realm of fashion retail sector, mammoth number of visitors (clocking well over 2,000 on both days), justified the months of back-breaking efforts, burning the midnight oil and working out every minute detail painstakingly… Looking back, ASW has emerged more than triumphant in bringing together manufacturers, brands and retailers from Asia on to one comprehensive platform to engage with one another, exhibit their products and further mutual collaboration, while giving a definite direction towards making a successful headway into India’s booming fashion retail sector.
The unique combination of knowledge sharing, networking and business, have had all the stakeholders asking for more!
As expected, ASW lived up to its promise of not just being a mere business platform, but rather expanding to encompass and address all relevant issues, be it sourcing challenges and opportunities, e-commerce, trend forecasts, sourcing strategies for Indian and international retailers operating in India, logistics, banking, customs, smart retail and sourcing with new technology, etc.
Thanks to our knowledgeable line-up of panellists and speakers and an equally enthusiastic audience, all the seminars and open forums found full houses, while in the business generation and organising fronts, manufacturers and exhibitors were all praise for ASW, putting it ahead of even the global biggies like Bread & Butter, ISPO and Magic.
Such appreciations and accolades coming our way and that too in the very first edition, was humbling to say the least!
With demands now pouring in to declare the dates for the next edition of ASW and expand its presence beyond India, we are working out the details and a confirmation to this end is expected very soon.
Having set the benchmark already, we aren’t leaving anything to chance once again, to make sure that the next edition of ASW not only lives up to its reputation but also surpasses the standards set, to make it a wholesome and fruitful experience for exhibitors and participants, in every aspect.
