Even as we warm up to a new year, the first month is over… time flies and before we know it, we will be approaching the second edition of Apparel Sourcing Week on 20th February!
Preparations are on full swing and the pressure is mounting, not because we don’t have the confidence to deliver, but because we have already set the benchmark very high. Small details are being worked out and the final shape of various activities from the exhibition to the knowledge platforms are being discussed and sealed.
It’s an exciting time for us and the team is very motivated. The response to the event has been very positive and it is good to know that the industry is aware of the show and also believes in the Apparel Resources team to continue to give value to the industry in whatever we do.
The conference section of the show has attracted some of the best names from sourcing and retail and we are proud to be hosting such an eminent group of people, who are not only celebrities in their own way, but are names that the industry looks up to for guidance and directions.
Another development that I am happy about is the growing number of Indian companies that have been chosen to exhibit at ASW 2020. Many of these names have never exhibited in India and the fact that they have shown confidence in our ability to pull in the right buyers, as also their keenness to be a part of such a show is very encouraging.
These endorsements make us more resolved to surpass the benchmarks set last edition and give some surprises that will take the show a notch higher. Many of the details of what an exhibitor and visitor can look forward to at the show are highlighted in the special section dedicated to ASW 2020, but expect some unexpected elements also!
As publishers of Apparel Online, the industry not only in India, Bangladesh and Vietnam, where we have an edition each, but the whole region has tested our dedication to perfection and to support the industry with information that can facilitate business.
We understand that the global fashion industry and trade is going through a transformational phase and it is important to share information and stay connect to be ready for the changes. Remaining relevant in times of disruption is very critical for both the manufacturers and retailers.
ASW 2020 is our attempt to talk about both the changes and also the solutions. Technology has made the world smaller and no information is now limited to companies and countries. Even the smallest of change in the world can impact those who are not even connected to the issue; we saw all this during the US-China stand-off.
Hence, remaining connected and sharing information in an open and transparent way is the only way forward to collectively gain from the transformation. At ASW 2020, meet the thought leaders, see new directions in products and discuss concerns with colleagues and peers from the industry.
As I have said many times, ASW is built on the pillars of Opportunity, Knowledge, Inspiration and Networking and these are the only four ways that growth is possible in the fashion value chain today.
Looking forward to see you all at ASW 2020!
