The 11th edition of Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories show [IFJAS] is going on with full vigour at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida (City of Apparel) for the Spring Summer 2019 and saw its second day with eager buyers and enthusiastic vendors.
The Executive Director of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Shri Rakesh Kumar, shed light on the proceedings of IFJAS, an effort of the EPCH, that the fashion jewellery and accessories thematic shows are based out of the craft clusters rising from the Northern Region, Central Region, Western Region, North Eastern Region, Eastern Region, and Uttarakhand.
Kumar shared that the entire purpose of these pavilions is to generate awareness for the jewellery, soft furnishing goods and bags industry, and the promotion of unique designs, raw materials, techniques and finishes. This enables these vendors to increase their reach in the export market and advertise the versatile and talented regional craft clusters where manufacturers and craft persons get opportunity to display their finesse. This practice, in turn, educates these small-scale producers with market technicalities according to demand of the foreign buyers.
The central region boasts of brass engraving jewellery, bangles, rings and ear rings, glass bead jewellery, necklaces, bracelets, beaded purses, pouches, fashion bags, imitation, wooden and silver jewellery. The north promises intricate detailing when it comes to beads jewellery, silk stoles & dress materials, artistic textiles, bags, tribal jewellery, kauna natural fibre bags & accessories, baskets, handmade textile, corn husk woven soft furnishing goods etc.
The other regions also displayed a wide array of stoles, designer caps, socks, button cufflinks, handmade artistic jewellery, silk wool traditional stoles, bracelets, lac bangles, leather bags, footwear, belts & purses, beads jewellery, clutch bags, purses, fashion bags, scarves, shawls, bone jewellery and the list goes on and on as every stall has something unique to give.
The trends that could be seen the most comprised of beaded soft furnishings, surface embellishments, and inclusion of very laid-back, vacation inspired prints and techniques like tropical motifs, bright colours on pastel and nude shades, a lot of basket bags, boho prints and applique including tassels, and heavy embroidery.
An annual B2B event, IFJAS provides a common platform exclusively to foreign buyers, importers, buying agents, and wholesalers willing to procure products to cater to their demand from Indian Market, as well as producers and craftsmen right from high-end to ground level.
