
During a discussion meeting on Thursday, speakers stated that Bangladesh has become the world’s top denim supplier thanks to its continuous efforts to enhance quality and add value, its embrace of modern denim technology, and its dedication to a sustainable and safe business.
They made these remarks at a discussion forum on “Innovation in Denim” that was conducted at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka as part of Textile Today Innovation Hub’s (TTIH) TexTIMe Episode-25.
According to a press release, the event was hosted in conjunction with the 6th Dhaka International Denim Show and the 21st Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show in 2024.
Leading figures from Bangladesh’s denim industry, including Shovon Islam, Managing Director of Sparrow Group; Rafee Mahmood, Chairman of Mahmud Group; Usman Maqsood, Director of Experience Group; Ferdaush Imtiaz, General Manager (Fabrics) of Poeticgem International ltd.; and Md. Meherul Islam (Sohel), DGM (Fabric Tech & Sourcing) of Hirdaramani Bangladesh, participated in the discussion, which was facilitated by Tareq Amin, Founder & CEO of TTIH.
According to experts, innovation in the denim industry is occurring in the production of various items, including fabrics, clothing, threads, machines, finishing equipment, and accessories.
The panel discussed some important concerns facing the denim industry, with a focus on sustainability, to set the standard for denim innovation.
The conversation also covered tactics for raising the value of denim goods, making sure you have astute negotiation skills, meeting changing consumer needs, getting government policy backing, etc.
