
Organized by Centre for Responsible Business (CRB), the 3rd edition of India & Sustainability Standards: International Dialogues and Conference 2016 (ISS 2016) will be held on November 16-18, 2016 in New Delhi (India). It is one of the major events that cover complete ambit of ‘sustainability’. Expert speakers from across the world will share their opinions on various issues of sustainability at the event. The three-day long event will have 26 plenary and parallel break-out sessions. Last year, the conference witnessed many thought-provoking discussions and raised valid points and suggested solutions too. Many apparel exporters and stakeholders from textile industry were a part of the event.
Rijit Sengupta, COO, CRB informed Apparel Resources, “The event is focused on various sectors like sustainable tourism, sustainable infrastructure, sustainable ICT, electronics and more. In regards to apparel and textile sector, topics for discussion will be reporting, disclosure and transparency. For cotton sector, sustainable supply chains will be the key focus area. We eagerly look forward to industry joining us at the event.”

As far as speakers are concerned, more than 28 expert speakers have confirmed their participation. Avedis Seferian, President & CEO, Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP); Jane Hwang, CEO, Social Accountability International (SAI); Jason Kibbey, CEO, Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC); and Anita Chester of C&A Foundation are few of the participants who are closely associated with the textile and apparel industry.
ISS 2016 will witness high profile speakers and important delegates from large and small businesses, civil society, policymakers and academia who will discuss bold and innovative ideas on sustainability, industry standards, and Forming Collaborative Sustainability Initiatives (CSIs).
CRB was created by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH of Germany, SAI of US and Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) of Belgium in 2010 as part of a German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supported initiative.
