The uniforms made at Solapur (India) would be promoted in foreign countries to enable local manufacturers to bag export orders.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways assured the industry in this regard.
He was addressing the Solapur Garments Manufacturers Association (SGMA)’s teaser launching ceremony for 5th edition of Uniform and Garments Manufacturers’ Fair 2022.
The fair is scheduled to be held on 7-9th December 2022 at Hyderabad in Telangana.
He assured that to ensure the participation of stakeholders from various countries, embassies will be approached for their active participation.
This edition is being expanded with more than 15 countries, 200 uniform manufacturers participating and 4000 fabric designs and 20,000-plus uniform designs being part of it.
Vijay Dakalia, Director, SGMA said that this year B2B arena will be arranged specially for benefit of visitors/buyers who directly want to have one–on–one interaction with exhibitors. Special session on fabrics by all reputed mills will be arranged in order to educate exhibitors about quality.
After first two successful events in Solapur, SGMA organised the third event in Bengaluru in 2019 and fourth in 2020 in Mumbai.
