SIMAC Tanning Tech – an international machinery exhibition for leather, tanning and footwear industries – has kicked off in Milan (Italy) after 19 months. The 3-day event will run from 22 September to 24 September.
The VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies is exhibiting at this year’s SIMAC Tanning Tech together with the two member companies Global International B.V. and PMF GmbH Maschinenfabrikation as part of a VDMA Services joint participation.
In addition, other VDMA member companies have their own stands at the show.
“The presence of German and European companies at SIMAC Tanning Tech shows that companies want and are looking for face-to-face meetings at trade fairs,” commented Elgar Straub, Managing Director, VDMA TFL (Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies).
The exhibitors are hoping for further important investment impetus after a sharp drop in orders and sales due to the pandemic in 2020.
German manufacturers of footwear and leather technology were able to export machinery worth € 40.69 million in 2020, which was 17 per cent less than in 2019 (€ 48.96 million), as reported by VDMA.
In the first half of 2021, however, exports have already increased by 12 per cent year-on-year to € 21.22 million. The event, therefore, brings positive outlook for the machinery industry.
