Shima Seiki to showcase SDS-ONE Apex4 at Preview in Seoul

Shima Seiki, a leading flat knitting solution provider, is all set to participate in the upcoming Preview in Seoul 2019 exhibition to be held in Seoul, Korea from 28 to 30 August.

The company along with its Korean subsidiary Shima Seiki Korea Inc. will be exhibiting the latest SDS-ONE Apex4, a 3D design system in the event.

Apex4 is incorporated with all new advanced features including an AI technology for the optimised searching of its huge portfolio of patterns and designs. Also, the simulation processing speed of the system is 6 times higher than that of Apex3. This was confirmed in company’s press release.

Apex series design system works as an added advantage to Shima Seiki’s WHOLEGARMENT knitting technology that can produce the whole garment without any need to link or sew the garment.

Apex4 transforms the knit supply chain with flexibility and special benefits. Also, at the core of Shima Seiki’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept,  the ultra-realistic simulation capabilities of the system, help virtual sampling to streamline the sample making process, reducing the time and cost. This helps the manufacturers to fasten their product development process with more flexibility.

The time saved in the sampling process can be utilised in the product planning stage for a much accurate review of the customer demand.

At the retail level, the virtual samples can be utilised to have a better understanding of the consumers’ acceptance of upcoming products, data for which can be used for forecasting demand.

This feedback will then help to optimise inventory and manage production so that there is no leftover stock in the warehouse.
