Just one-month away from its 6th edition, the combined tradeshow ITMA Asia + CITME is all set to witness enthusiastic response of the global textile industry. Scheduled from October 15-19, 2018, the exhibition will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai, China. One of the largest technology events is jointly being organized by the Beijing Textile Machinery Exhibition Co. Ltd. and ITMA Services. In addition, the Japan Textile Machinery Association (JTMA) will also be the partner of the show.
Earlier, the show was scheduled to be held in February this year but due to a new national initiative in China back then affected the scheduling of all events including ITMA Asia + CITME.
During the 5-day long event, focus of the exhibitors will remain on the showcase of cutting-edge solutions. More than 1,700 exhibitors will cover around 170,000 square meters of exhibition space. Approximately 100,000 visitors are expected to visit the show from all across the world. According to the event organizers, the major categories of exhibits will include: Spinning, weaving and texturing; Nonwovens; Braiding; Research and innovation; Weaving; Knitting and hosiery; Garment manufacturing and embroidery; Printing; Equipment for plant ops, logistics, services for textile industry, software and testing; and Colorants, chemicals, finishing and recycling.
Of all participants, the Chinese exhibitors have booked the largest area of floor space this year, followed by exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. Spinning machinery is the largest exhibitor sector followed by finishing and dyeing, knitting, weaving and nonwovens.
As China’s textile industry continues its transformation, the demand for advanced machinery and technology is on the rise. This is pushing the technology suppliers to come up with their innovative offerings in the country. Major exhibitors who will mark their presence witht heir state-of-art and cutting edge technologies during the show are: Rieters, Karl Mayer, Groz Beckert, Stoll, Staubli, Mayer & Cie, Monforts, Thies, Shima Seiki, Jeanologia and Santex.
It’s worth noting here that the show owners the European Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (CEMATEX) along with the Chinese association Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex); China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA); and China Exhibition Centre Group Corp. (CIEC) are overwhelmed seeing the massive response from the apparel and textile industry.
“We had a long waiting list for space by the deadline for applications. Therefore, we made the decision to book the additional space available in the venue,” said Wang Shutian, President, CTMA.
According to Fritz P. Mayer, President, CEMATEX, the combined exhibition (ITMA + CITME) has continued to garner strong interest of the industry. “It proves that our exhibition is the industry-leading platform in Asia for textile machinery manufacturers to showcase a wide spectrum of cutting-edge solutions,” commented Mayer.
