Italy’s most celebrated menswear trade show, Pitti Uomo has dished out new details about the exhibition’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 edition. The organisational body of the event has partnered with Copenhagen’s Revolver trade fair for its 94th edition that will take place from 12th-15th June in Florence.
Dubbed ‘Scandinavian Manifesto’, the collaboration will see the showcase of 15 Scandinavian designers at Pitti’s Arena Strozzi pavilion. Apart from mfpen, the rising Danish brand helmed by Sigurd Bank, the list of designers that will be a part of this arrangement has not been declared yet.
Beginning from June 2018, the collaboration will last three seasons and help in the exchange of both established and emerging talent of both the regions.
Going beyond fashion, the Scandinavian setup is expected to be a complete multi-sensory lifestyle experience that will host designers, artists, furniture, interior and culinary industry patrons showcasing their work.
Revolver has already worked Milan-based WHITE Show, which is also famous for its talent but the Pitti alliance will help give a bigger push to Scandinavian talent thanks to the show’s global appeal and aggressive media coverage.
Lapo Cianchi, Director of Communications and Special Projects at Pitti Immagine, who is in-charge of curating the space, said, “On their own, each of them conveys their own individual ideas, while together all are expressing the essence of Scandinavian design and lifestyle. The partnership will strengthen the appeal of this season even more.”
Apart from this, Pitti Uomo has also announced its theme for the season as ‘P.O.P. Pitti Optical Power’, which will also be for all other events and partnerships by Pitti Imagine this season.
