Indian Textile Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the Indian pavilion at the ongoing Heimtextil 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. More than 390 Indian textile companies including Welspun, Reliance, Shri Laxmi Cotsyn, Trident, Alps Industries and D‘Décor are taking part in the event.
Various Indian trade associations such as Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) are also present at the textile event. Such a wide-scale participation from India is expected to generate good textile trade for the players.
Additionally, the Textile Minister and the representatives of Messe Frankfurt discussed ways to further increase India’s participation at Heimtextil fairs in the time to come; that would bolster textile trade relations amid buyers and sellers.
The home textile exhibition is known for showcasing the latest trends and innovations in home furnishings, home textiles, floor covering, crocheted lace and embroidery, etc.
The event is further considered as the most important international platform for those related to home furnishings and textiles. Last year, a total of 2,963 exhibitors from 67 countries presented their novel textile products and designs during the event held at Frankfurt am Main.
In view of the growth in the Indian home textile industry, the India edition of the fair will be held from June 27-29, 2018. It is predicted that industry in India will become a US $ 5.29 billion market this year, as it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8 per cent.
