Co-chairs and the dress code for the Met Gala have been revealed. Vogue recently announced that the 2023 fashion extravaganza’s dress code will be Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, paying homage to the renowned fashion designer.
Together with Anna Wintour, Penelope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer and Dua Lipa will serve as the co-chairs of the Met Gala on 1st May at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.
Vogue shared a list of ‘approaches’ that attendees of this year’s Met Gala might use to honour Karl on its website as fashion guidance for the select few who will be granted invitations.
“The first, most authentic approach would be to wear an archival look from one of the labels Lagerfeld led. The second would be to sport modern-day Chanel or Fendi, two houses on which Lagerfeld left an indelible impression,” were suggested on the website.
The last piece of advice was for visitors to dress like Lagerfeld and find their own version of Karl’s cherished cat, Choupette.
Following complications from pancreatic cancer, Karl passed away on 19th February 2019, at the age of 85.
