Iran, which has had a long and successful history of manufacturing textiles, is all set to host a four-day long International Textile Industry Exhibition from May 8-11, 2018. The textile event will be organised in the city of Yazd.
Sessions on exchanging textile expertise among specialists active in universities and production units will also be majorly carried during the four days.
The event is likely to be attended by the head of the expo, companies from Italy, Germany, Turkey, India, China and Switzerland.
Around 100 textile companies will showcase textile machinery, leather and apparel products during the fair in the presence of domestic and foreign companies.
According to reports, Iran currently has 9,818 textile industrial units operational which create more than 290,000 direct jobs accounting for 13 per cent of all industrial jobs in the country.
The textile sector, mostly known for its carpet industry, constitutes around 11 per cent of all industrial entities in the country.
Markedly, the textile industry plays a vital role in developing industrial production, job creation and exports in Iran. The industry contributes 0.1 per cent share to global markets of textile export.
The agenda of the fair is to further accelerate the growth rate of the Iranian textile industry and show the strength of the sector on a global platform.
