India’s Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is participating at Maison & Objet 2017 and exhibiting Indian handicrafts products under the banner of “India – Magic of Gifted Hands” in Paris, France. Maison & Objet is a major French trade fair for interior designs. Held bi-annually in January and September, the fair has been described as among the three most important European events for interior design. It is known for huge collection of innovation and talent all in one place.
Home Décor, Home Textiles & Furnishing, Leather Crafts, Furniture Decorative,etc. are being put on display at the event organized between January 20 and 24. These products were sourced from more than 20 Indian manufactures from different handicrafts clusters such as Andhra Pradesh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Moradabad, New Delhi, Agra, and Firozabad.
France is one of the largest importers of the Indian products particularly houseware and homeware handicrafts among all European Union nations. Indian handicrafts exports to the European Union had remained on increasing trend. The exports of Indian handicrafts to European Union have grown to Rs. 6,029.70 crores during 2015-16 as compared to Rs. 5,641.23 crore during 2014-15.

Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH said that thematic display at Maison & Objet 2017 fair will promote India as a major handicrafts sourcing destination.
