The prestigious Ajay Shankar Memorial Awards, instituted in the memory of Ajay Shankar, former Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), have been distributed by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) for the best designed displayed stands on the concluding day of 43rd edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair Spring 2017.
The awards were given in 12 product categories such as Furniture & Home Accessories, Home Textiles, Furnishing & Floor Coverings, Carpet & Rugs, Lamps and Lighting products, Houseware, Decorative & Gifts, Educational Toys and Games, Decorative, Gifts [including corporate gifts], Candles, incense sticks, potpourri & Aromatics, Stationery & Paper including handmade paper products, Leather bags and cases, Christmas decorations, candles & incense sticks and fashion jewellery & Accessories.
Ajay Shankar Memorial Award for the Best design & Display Stand in the category of Furniture & Home Accessories was given to Haswani Handicrafts, Jodhpur & Cross Country, Jodhpur while the best design & display stand in the category of home textiles, furnishing & floor coverings was given to M/S Art Age Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur. For carpet & rugs category the award was presented to Essgee Leather Goods Pvt. Ltd., Agra, and M/S India International Exporters, Moradabad grabbed the award for the Best design & Display Stand in the category of Houseware, Decorative & Gifts.
Amrish Creation from Delhi won the award for the best design and display stand in the category of Fashion Jewellery & Accessories, while award for the best design & display stand in the category of Christmas Decoration, Candles & Incense Sticks was given to M/S A.T.S.S. Enterprises, Delhi.
Afterskool Toys & Games Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata bagged the award for the best design & display stand in the category of Educational Toys & Games while Moradabad based M/S Decolite got recognized for lamps & lighting products category.
Best design & display stand in the category of Candles, Incense Sticks, Potpourri & Aromatics was given to Acharya Exports, Mumbai. Ajay Shankar Memorial Award for the best design & display stand in the category of Stationery & Paper Including Handmade Paper Products was given to M/S Alka Pandey Packaging Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur and Ecoline, Noida respectively.
