Veronique Nichanian, the artistic director for menswear at Hermes, unveiled a new collection of ensembles during the label’s winter runway show on 20th January. Demonstrating the multifaceted nature of high-end fashion, Nichanian’s designs for Hermès are renowned for their crisp lines, understated silhouettes, and use of premium materials.
Models showcased classic pieces such as, thick sheepskin coats, checked suits, sleek leather jackets, and a special pea-green bomber jacket. Noteworthy pieces included a reversible leather coat lined with a soft, light-colored fabric, and a sheer, lightweight parka revealing the pattern of a checked suit. Nichanian also introduced modifications to classic apparel, such as a lavender-hued chunky Argyle sweater vest and readjusted shirt pockets. The collection featured tailored items, including a sleek suit crafted from polished calfskin that shimmered under the runway lights.
Veronique Nichanian has held the position of artistic director for menswear at Hermès since 1988. Prior to her tenure at Hermès, Nichanian honed her craft as a designer for several fashion houses, including Cerruti and Nino Cerruti. In 1993, she also established her eponymous label, but subsequently shuttered it in 2009 to concentrate on her role at Hermès.
