Heimtextil, the leading souring event for home textile industry, which was scheduled to take place from 11 to 14 January 2022,has been cancelled,which is going to impact the Indian home textile industry also.
Owing to rising Omicron cases, Heimtextil and few other upcoming events have been either postponed or cancelled.
This is the second consecutive time the fair has been cancelled due to the pandemic.
Messe Frankfurt is working with the industry to determine whether and in what form a new offering in the summer of 2022 can be organised to run parallel to the Techtextil/Texprocess trade fair duo.
Prior to Covid, Heimtextil used to be explored by visitors from over 135 countries.
Hundreds of home furnishing manufacturers used to participate in the event and most of them often got good orders from their existing buyers. Connecting with new buyers was also a major benefit for them.
Karur, India’s leading hub for home furnishing products, is facing the heat of Heimtextil cancellation. Around 45 companies from this city used to participate in this event. Many exporters, who had to participate in this prestigious event, had booked their tickets and hotels, but are now forced to cancel their bookings.
The organisers are exploring the feasibility of conducting the show from 21 to 24 June next year.
