2021 has begun and, expectedly, the pandemic seems to be in no mood to leave the world!
And, therefore, expectedly, Messe Frankfurt – the world’s largest trade fair, congress and event organiser with its own exhibition grounds – has decided to postpone all its major events of the year.
Besides the International Consumer Goods Show, the much-awaited Prolight+Sound, Heimtextil, Techtextil and Texprocess have been postponed until 2022.
The decision has not come as a surprise considering the regulations and restrictions that have been imposed across the globe.
Messe Frankfurt, following close consultations with customers, has announced that since events are effectively banned in Germany now, no physical trade shows can be planned for April and May this year.
Here it is important to state that Prolight + Sound and International Consumer Goods Show were planned for April, while Heimtextil, Techtextil and Texprocess were scheduled for May.
Messe Frankfurt has made it distinct that since a yearly spring event is necessary for the trend-based order cycles in the textile, technology and other sectors, postponing to second half of 2021 would not serve the interests of exhibitors.
Also, logistics is a concern as many exhibitors have to bring their machinery for presentations at Techtextil and Texprocess. Therefore, the events have been postponed till 2022.
But lot’s going to happen virtually!
Messe Frankfurt will organise Consumer Goods Digital Day on 20 April 2021 to offer customers the opportunity to meet virtually so that they can engage in dialogue and get information.
Digital information and content offerings are currently being planned for Heimtextil, Techtextil, Texprocess and Prolight + Sound also.
Meanwhile, dates for 2022 shows have also been announced!
While Heimtextil will be held from 11 to 14 January 2022, Prolight + Sound is planned from 26 to 29 April 2022. Techtextil and Texprocess will take place in the second quarter of 2022.
