Velvet Jet, a Bordeaux Digital PrintInk division, will display its water-based pigment ink for all fabrics at Heimtextil 2016, scheduled to be held from 12 to 15 January in Frankfurt. Velvet Jet claims the pigment ink to be first-of-its-type, which prints on all fabrics with one simple procedure.
Velvet Jet ink developed by Velvet Jet® is going to be a real game changer for the digital textile industry, as it makes any textile application possible with one Velvet Jet pigment ink and one simple printing line. The new water-based pigment ink encompasses high quality characteristics including uniform coverage for quality prints on any type of fabric while preserving the natural feel of fabrics.
In addition, the ink requires only a single pre-treatment to all different fabrics, thus, significantly simplifying the non-printing process. The unique aspect of the ink is that there is no requirement of the post-treatment. This in turn shortens the entire process, and significantly reduces electricity and water consumption.

Various attributes of dyeing such as rub and wash resistance are high even without any pre-treatment to the fabric. When using Velvet Jet optimizer the test results are among the highest in the market with 5/5 wash and rub resistance and 7/8 colour fastness.
Guy Evron, Marketing Director, Velvet Jet® says, “Velvet Jet is already making waves in the textile segment as it brings a true change to the industry. Velvet Jet’s pigment ink simplifies the complexity of the current digital textile printing. This pigment ink created a huge interest at ITMA as the fashion, apparel, footwear, decorative and industrial textile markets recognize the huge business potential Velvet jet can bring.”
Textile manufacturers and integrators will now have the ability to provide new, simpler solutions to their customers, while reducing overall printing costs and eliminating the multiple production lines needed for printing different fabrics. As home textile, fashion, décor and garment manufacturers are looking into digital printing process for easy and efficient processes, Velvet Jet ink, with its simple application procedure for all fabrics (digital), is expected to dominate the textile printing arena.
