A day-long seminar titled ‘Sustainability as Key to Business Efficiency’ will be organised by Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) on May 29, 2018, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
GOTS has been organising such international and regional events since 2015. ‘GOTS India Seminar 2018’ is the third such event in India. Earlier, events in Mumbai and New Delhi were highly appreciated by participants and the industry as a whole.
Stakeholders and those associated with the organic textile supply chain will contemplate positive initiatives to achieve business efficiency through sustainable practices during the event as consumers have now become more aware of the environmental cost of fast-fashion. It has been predicted that 2018 will be the year when sustainability will become the mainstream focus.
Pressing issues relevant to the organic textiles industry will be addressed through focussed and challenging discussions during the day-long event.
It shall equip delegates with best practices and know-how relating to the biggest opportunities – and challenges – help to transform their supply chains to achieve efficiency through sustainability.
The seminar shall look at key issues such as sustainability in fashion industry, chemical and environmental compliance, future of compliances and standards.
In another development, GOTS has also announced the appointment of Claudia Kersten and Rahul Bhajekar in its leadership team.
Notably, GOTS aims to safeguard the organic status of textiles through a sustainable production process.
