Industry experts have urged to bring required changes in skill development as per the need of the hour.
Flexibility in learning, maximum use of latest technology and data in skilling and reskilling across the supply chain, regular change in syllabus, much focus on leadership at all levels and better connect with academia research and industry were some of the points suggested by various experts like T. Rajkumar, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI); Shishir Jaipuria, CMD, Ginni Filaments Ltd; V K Kothari, Emeritus, IIT Delhi at a recently held event.
The experts shared the aforementioned views during the virtually organised 33rd foundation day of North India Section of Textile Institute (NISTI).
The event also had a roundtable ‘Textile Industry’s Revival with Growth – Looking Ahead’ co-hosted by The Textile Institute (TI), Manchester.
Talking about the industry, several expert speakers highlighted that in coming days, rayon, polyester and nylon will be more in demand – not to mention that more use of robotic and IOT will increase productivity.
They also said that home furnishing, medical textiles and sportswear sectors will also see more demand.
