Couturier Mohammed Ashi becomes the first Saudi Arabian designer to present the debut collection inspired by Patrick Süskind’s novel Perfume at Paris Haute Couture Week.
Keeping the niche as his inspiration, the designer chose the prestigious Théâtre du Châtelet as the backdrop, combining it with solemn music to complement his collection.
The designer’s debut featured a collection that reflected dark romance, through monochromatic ensembles and evocative silhouettes.
As the solemn music played in the background, models emerged from the depths of the stalls, surrounded by dramatic white smoke, creating a mesmerising spectacle.
Each piece of the collection added drama to the garment by including corsets on exaggerated volumes, strategic openings and soft velvet fabric, geometric statement elements incorporated through shoulder pads, extravagant ruffle layering, and other methods.
Mohammed Ashi skillfully used different textures to contrast illusions featuring intricate patterns. His bold collection also showcased transparency look with adorned ‘naked dresses’ in softer hues.
The designer Mohammed Ashi has also been selected for the ‘Saudi 100 Couture Showroom’, organized by the Saudi Fashion Commission prior to the Fashion showcase.
